Yellow Emperor’s Dark Amulet Script (Qi Men Dun Jia’s main summary & essence)
陰陽逆順妙難窮，二至還歸一九宮。
Yin & Yang energies flow in wondrous and infinite ways, yet both are confined to the 9 palaces.
若能了達陰陽理，天地都來一掌中。
If one is able to fully learn them, the whole world is in one’s hand.
三才變化作三元，八卦分為八遁門。
The Trinity of Heaven-Earth-Mankind becomes the “3 Cycles”, the Eight Trigrams becomes the “8 Escape Doors”.
星符每逐時干轉，直使常隨天乙奔。
The Stars and Amulets turns with the Hour Stem, and ever so often follows the 2nd Heavenly Stem.
六儀六甲本同名，三奇即是乙丙丁。
The 6 pairs of stems are of the same name, the “Miraculous Trio” are the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Heavenly Stems.
三奇倘合開休生，便是吉門利出行。
The “Miraculous Trio”, which corresponds to Open, Rest & Life doors, are auspicious doors/directions to travel out.
萬事從之無不利，能知玄妙得其靈。
Nothing in this world is perfect, if only one truly understands its mysterious depths.
直符前三六合位，前二太陰君須記。
The Chief Amulet’s 3rd deity is Hexagonal Harmony and 2nd is Moon which are to be noted.
直符後一名九天，後二宮神名九地。
The Chief Amulet’s last deity is Nine Heavens and 2nd last is Nine Earths.
地為伏匿天揚兵，六合太陰可藏避。
Earth to be used for hiding young soldiers, Hexagonal Harmony and Moon for escaping and dodging.
急從神兮緩從門，三五反复天道利。
Anxiety from deities, relief from doors, repeatedly benefits from Heaven’s law.
已上若得三奇妙，不如更得三奇使。
If “Miraculous Trio” is present, it is great.
得使犹来未为精，五不遇时损其明。
Such that the best is not essence, it is obvious five doesn’t exceed the hour.
損明須知時克日，吟格相加尤不吉。
Lost is when the hour clash with the day, a chart of duplicate stems makes it more inauspicious.
掩捕逃亡須格時，佔稽行人信宜失。
To escape from capture/death is to look at the hour chart.
鬥中三奇遊六儀，天乙會合主陰私。
Constellations and Miraculous Trio interact with the 6 pairs of stems, 2nd Heavenly Stem meet the main dark depths.
討捕須明時下克，行人信息遇三奇。
When the hour chart is clashed, capture is inevitable.
三奇上見遊六儀，六儀更見五陽時。
When the Miraculous Trio meets the 6 pairs of stems, 6 pairs would meet 5 yang hours.
兼向八門尋吉位，萬事開三萬事宜。
To look for an auspicious position within the 8 Doors, all things will go smoothly.
五陽在前五陰後，主客須知有盛衰。
The five Yangs are front while the five Yins are behind, one would notice their rise and fall.
陰後五子還須記，六儀加著更無利。
Apart from Yins, the 5 Zis are to be remembered, with the 6 pairs, it is inauspicious.
六儀忽然加三宮，更為刑擊先須忌。
When the 6 pairs are with 3 palaces, it is inauspicious for criminal pursuits.
六儀擊刑三奇墓，此時舉動百事誤。
When the 6 pairs clash against the Miraculous Trio, and if one were to take action in this hour, all things will fail.
太白入熒賊即來，火入金鄉賊即去。
When the Venus star enters Mars, the thief will come; when the reverse, the thief will escape.
丙為勃兮庚為格，格則不通勃亂逆。
When the Bing meet Geng, the chart is upset and turned into chaos.
庚加日干為伏幹，日干加庚飛幹格。
When the Geng meet day stem as duplicate stem, it becomes a “flying stem” chart.
庚加直符天乙伏，直符加庚天乙飛。
When the Geng meet Chief Amulet, it becomes a duplicate. Vice versa, it becomes a “flying” chart.
加己為刑道上格，加癸路中大格宜。
When Ji is included, it becomes penalty chart; when Gui is included, it becomes a great chart.
加壬之時為小格，更嫌歲月日時移。
When Ren is included, it becomes minor chart and turns with the time.
當此之時皆不吉，遣將行師勿用之。
When the hour is inauspicious, do not use it for activities.
丙加甲兮鳥跌穴，甲加丙兮龍返首。
When Bing meets Jia, the chart formation becomes “Flying Bird fallen into Cave”; when Jia meets Bing, the “Green Dragon returns”.
辛加乙兮虎猖狂，乙加辛兮龍逃走。
When Xin meets Yi, the chart formation becomes “White Tiger turned aggressive”; when reverse in Heaven/Earth stem, the “Green Dragon escapes”.
丁加癸兮雀入江，癸加丁兮蛇躍蹺。
When Ding meets Gui, the chart formation becomes “Phoenix drowns in River”; when reverse in Heaven/Earth stem, the “Snake loops around”.
符加丙丁為相佐，使加六丁為守戶。
When Chief Amulet meets Miraculous Trio, the chart formation becomes “Mutual Assistance”; when meet 6 Dings, the “Guarding Hold”.
生丙合戊為天遁，地遁乙合開加己。
When Bing meets Wu, the chart formation becomes “Heaven Escape”; when Yi meets Ji, “Earth Escape”.
休承丁合太陰人，天網四張時加癸。
When Rest Door meets Ding, it becomes “Moon”; Gui meets Hour stem, it becomes “Four Heavenly Nets” formation.
蓬加英兮為返吟，伏吟之時蓬加蓬。
When Heavenly Shower meets Heavenly Gallant, it becomes “Reverse” formation; when Heavenly Shower meet Heavenly Shower, it becomes “Duplicate” formation.
吉宿見之事更吉，兇宿逢之事愈兇。
When meet auspicious constellations, all things will be auspicious; when meet inauspicious, all things will be inauspicious.
天輔衝任禽心吉，天蓬天英芮柱兇。[this verse is not included in the version from my chinese book]
Heavenly Aid, Heavenly Clash, Heavenly Trust, Heavenly Creature and Heavenly Heart are auspicious stars. Heavenly Shower, Heavenly Gallant, Heavenly Minor and Heavenly Pillar are inauspicious stars.
陰宿禽心柱英芮，陽宿衝輔及蓬任。
Heavenly Creature, Heavenly Heart, Heavenly Pillar, Heavenly Gallant and Heavenly Minor are yin/feminine stars. Heavenly Clash, Heavenly Aid, Heavenly Shower and Heavenly Trust are yang/masculine stars.
天網四張無走路，陰陽逆順妙無窮。
With the “Four Heavenly Nets” formation, there is no escape route. Yin & Yang energies flow wondrously in opposing and infinite ways.
節氣推移時候應，二至還歸一九宮。
Seasonal energies move with time, yet are confined to the 9 palaces.
三元超遁用六甲，八卦周流遍九宮。
Three Cycles uses with 6 pairs of Jia stem, 8 Trigrams flow within the 9 palaces.
若能了達陰陽理，天地消詳一掌中。
If one is able to fully learn them, the details of this world is in one’s hand.
