33.DUN means retreat; it teaches us the lesson of retreating in order to preserve one's strength and resources.
It is similar to "He who fights and runs away may live to fight another day".
Sometimes in life instead of forcing a situation and risk total loss and defeat, it is much better to retreat to safety and wait for another opportunity.
There is no shame in retreating.
It is in our moment of weakness that we know our true strength.
4th Yao, When you yield voluntarily, it is good fortune for the advanced person, but downfall for the inferior person.
1. You get driven from your job by greedy and unscrupulous colleagues who fear you for your competence. You leave politely, saying nothing. The business immediately goes into a long-term slump because none of the others have any real skill.
2. Don't expose another person's secrets.
3. It is very hard to make both ends meet.
6th Yao. You are cheerful in yielding. Everything advances you.
1. You thought it over with great care before deciding to move. Now that the moment has come you feel no uneasiness and look forward happily to the path ahead.
2. You will have a high position and good pay.
3. Happiness lies in rendering help to others.
39. JIAN literally means crippled.
The classical commentaries described having difficulties in movement when one had a crippled leg or foot.
The source of this limitation is not external, but internal.
That is, we are being limited by something that is a part of us.
The eactual limitation may not be in our physical body as it can be any type of limitation; it can be a physical, an emotional, a psychological, or even a spiritual type of limitation.
In reality, no one is nor can be perfect in all aspects of his or her life all the time.
We are all, in effect, a little "crippled" in some way.
The lesson here is to play with the cards that we are dealt with. Move forward regardless of any limitation and work toward the success and the happiness we desire.
