The missing element appears in spouse's chart

I've read a lot about compatibility and date selection, but am by no means an expert. I find the subject very interesting. There are lots of things to consider. Usually, we want to avoid clashes and harms. However, there can also be situations where a clash opens up a branch and brings out an element that is needed in the overall flow of the chart.

Maybe you have some recourses to better understand or even for study?

This man is really missing the water element in his chart. He's now met a woman that has plenty of water in her chart (but is missing metal, which he brings to her). And even though two of her branches are clashing his year and month pillars, it has been the best ever match with a woman in a relationship he's ever experienced. They started their relationship in Ji-Hai year. I wonder if it is more likely a half combination on the month pillar to make water which balances his chart and supports the wood/spouse element, or if it is rather considered a Hai-Yin combination with day branch to make more wood. What do you think? Maybe it's a bit of both.

In 2023 he's starting his Geng Wu LP and wants to get married to this woman. So the Geng in LP is adding to the combination of Geng-Yi that is already in the chart, but the Wu branch makes a combination into fire. Perhaps that brings him influence. But there are different options for him to choose. He can make a full three harmony combination Yin-Wu-Xu by choosing a Xu day. This may also take away the harm from Si to Yin. OR he could choose to make a fire combination onto his hour pillar of Si-Wu-Wei by choosing a Wei hour. Perhaps Hai month is good for him as for next year that would make a Hai-Mao wood combination. Although next year is peach blossom year for the woman.

(It is also possible that he has Geng-Chen as his hour pillar (He had his only child during his Wu-Chen LP) and he has two siblings, one half brother growing up in the same home and a half sister who was far away in another home).

What is your take on combinations to the earthly branches in the chart? Would it be good to make more wood (wealth) and fire (influence)?
Would you consider this a metal DM combination to Yi wood month stem good as the Geng combines with Yi and therefore we might say is stronger?

For a stronger wood element to this DM, this man should probably get married during spring/summer. Wood element is always weaker since the winter season of the chart is not supporting it. This might be done through a branch combination including the four pillars as well as the Geng-Wu luck pillar. The Yin-Wu combine into fire, so the spouse palace is combined into becoming his influence element. Maybe add the XU with date selection for a full fire combination.

I've read it. A lot to avoid. But not much said about combinations to pillars within birthcharts, other than this:
** Select a wedding day  where the year, month or day is part of a three (directional) combination with one or both of the marriage partners birth year.

I don't see anything on combinations with day pillar of birth chart like mentioned above.

This DM above has strong affinity with spouse element, combination Geng-Yi.
There is also a secret combination happening between the HS within the day and month branches Yin-Chou.

He got married and divorced during his Si LP. Si is harm to Yin day branch.

I'm guessing the wedding day Wu-Xu combine with Yin to make fire. But there are two Geng elements, maybe indicating a rival into the marriage? So perhaps his upcoming Geng-Wu LP also depicts a rival for his spouse. I don't know. And I don't know if there is a way to mitigate that to avoid it - by somehow combining the LP with something else?

In year 2018 Wu Xu this couple divorced because the wife met another man.  She has Wu Shen day pillar, a clash with his Yin day branch. Yet they lasted 15 yrs together. He then met a new woman in 2019, Hai year combination with day branch.

They both "tied the knot" again in year 2021, Chou year. She married again, but he registered officially his new coupling on Shen day, Hai month and Chou year. Jia-Ji combination on HS, day+month.

I believe the combinations, clashes and harms can be key to see a story. I also believe that there is a way to mitigate them so that they do not do the harm. But it is very complicated.
