A politician visited a remote little rural village and asked the inhabitants what the government could do for them.
“We have two big needs,” said the village headman. “First, we have a hospital but no doctor.”

The politician whipped out his cellphone, spoke for a while and then said: “I have sorted it out. A doctor will arrive here tomorrow. What is your other need?”
“We have no cellphone reception at all in our village.”

Unfortunately, Trump needs a war to win this year's elections. :(

"Donald Trump predicted that an American president would launch a war with Iran in a "desperate" attempt to win reelection—he just didn't think it would be him. (...) "Barack Obama will attack Iran in the not too distant future because it will help him win the election," Trump tweeted on November 14, 2011—a prediction he echoed nearly a dozen times between 2011 and 2012." Prescriptive Recipe / Best foods for skin and complexion
« on: January 08, 2020, 05:54:31 AM »
The following list is from an article called Facial Rejuvenation With Traditional Chinese Healing Foods by Ping Zhang, which appeared in Acupuncture Today, April, 2007, Vol. 08, Issue 04. Here are some of the best foods that the Chinese associate with a spotless and radiant complexion:

Dong Gua (Winter Melon)
This gourd vegetable and its seeds are very popular in China, especially as a soup. It benefits the heart, detoxifies the body and beautifies the skin. Whether eaten as a food or taken in herb form, dong gua improves the complexion by removing wind from the skin, especially for complexion problems.
To find and prepare dong gua: You can find it in Asian markets or even in Western-style organic food stores. It's also called wax gourd or white gourd. Eat it as you would any melon, peeling off the outer skin. Remove the seeds and pulp, cut it into small pieces, and put in soup or sauté with garlic. For topical skin beauty use, take a small piece, including the juice, and apply the liquid directly to your face as a skin brightener.

Si Gua (Luffa)
This common Chinese vegetable enters and clears the Liver and Stomach channels. It clears heat from the skin and rejuvenates it, and is more specifically used by the Chinese for facial discoloration and wrinkle conditions.
To find and prepare si gua: You easily can grow these zucchini-like vegetables yourself if you have the space. You also should be able to find them at Chinese markets. Prepare them as you would any squash. It also makes an excellent topical mask for dealing with wrinkles, dark spots and uneven facial discoloration. The best way to collect the juice is to cut the vein and let the liquid drip into a jar, and then apply it topically to the face while fresh.

Bai Luo Be (White Turnip)
This is a fairly common turnip, often called daikon, which offers plenty of medicinal benefits. In TCM terms, bai luo be is acrid, sweet and cool in nature, entering the Spleen and Lung channels to detoxify the body and free-up stagnating fluids in the channels. It has a beneficial effect on the complexion when eaten regularly.
To find and prepare bai luo be: It can be found in most regular food markets. Clean and cut it into small pieces, and then cook it with your regular soup. You also can shred and prepare it as salad. The other way to use it for facial discoloration is to juice bai luo be every morning and drink about half a cup.

Shi Zi (Persimmon)
Shi zi has been known for centuries to clear heat from the body, nourish the lungs and moisten the skin - all actions that improve facial complexion.
To find and prepare shi zi: You may find two different kinds of persimmons. The Chinese version is sometimes called kaki. Both the Chinese and the American persimmons are great for complexion. Eat them raw as fruit, but make sure they're very ripe. Dried persimmons are a special treat that can be found in Chinese markets. Another way to use persimmon to brighten the complexion is by applying the fresh peel to the face.

Sang Shen Zi (Mulberry Fruit)
These fruits of the mulberry tree contain beneficial antioxidants. From a TCM point of view, sang shen zi is a blood tonic that benefits the yin and kidneys, helps overcome weakness, and brightens a withered-looking complexion. It is also beneficial for clearing dark spots from the face.
To find and prepare san shen zi: Mulberry fruit is available in food markets and can be eaten as you would any berry. You also can buy fresh mulberry juice and drink it, or use it in your cooking.

Bai Gou (Ginkgo Nut)
The health benefits of ginkgo leaf extract have been widely discovered in the West. Much modern research indicates that the antioxidant plant chemicals in ginkgo benefit blood flow and might even slow memory loss. Not many are aware that in Chinese medicine, the nut of the ginkgo tree is more often used medicinally. Ginkgo nut is used herbally, but the whole nuts themselves, often roasted, are a traditional Chinese food that nourishes lung energy and calms wheezing. The best way to use ginkgo to clear the complexion is topical application.
To find and prepare bai gou: It is available in Chinese markets. Crush the fresh nuts into a paste and apply directly to the face.

Yi Yi Ren (Coix Seed)
This wonderful barley-like grain, when eaten as food, can help the body clear up discoloration of the facial complexion. Yi yi ren is a very effective strengthener of the digestive system, and clears Heat and Damp obstruction from different levels of the body system, including from the skin layer.
To find and prepare yi yi ren: Cook it in soup, as you would with other beans and barley, or boil it into tea (15 g) and drink it all day.

Extra Eclipses In 2020 Signal Change
One of the biggest indicators that 2020 will be different from other years is the number of eclipses that will occur. Typically, we experience four eclipses per year, two solar and two lunar. Eclipses generally arrive in sets of two, with a solar and a lunar in each set, and two sets occurring in a given year, about five and a half months apart. In 2020, we’ll see six eclipses. These extra eclipses signal change.

Here’s a list of the 2020 eclipses:
  • January 10 lunar eclipse in Cancer
  • June 5 lunar eclipse in Sagittarius
  • June 21 solar eclipse in Cancer
  • July 4 lunar eclipse in Capricorn
  • November 30 lunar eclipse in Gemini
  • December 14 total solar eclipse in Sagittarius
Lunar eclipses coincide with full Moons, while solar eclipses arrive at the new Moon phase. A set of eclipses usually consists of one each in opposite zodiac signs, for example, Cancer and Capricorn.
(Solar Eclipse - source of the picture)

Eclipses Changing To Different Zodiac Signs
Notice that half the 2020 eclipses will occur in Sagittarius and Gemini, while the other half will occur in Cancer and Capricorn. This mix indicates we’re in an overlap period, when the eclipses are shifting from the Cancer-Capricorn polarity to the Gemini-Sagittarius one. Also notice that four of these events will be lunar eclipses, while two will be solar ones.

Eclipses Bring Change
Eclipses bring change. Not all of them will affect you personally, although you may see their effects on people around you and in the world at large as major events. A particular eclipse tends to be important in your life if it occurs in a sign that’s highlighted in your chart (such as your Sun sign or rising sign) or if it happens in a degree that’s sensitive in your chart (such as 12 degrees of Aquarius, for example, if you have planets at or close to 12 degrees in Aquarius or around 12 degrees in any of the other fixed signs).

About Lunar Eclipses
In general, lunar eclipses bring closure or endings. Think of them as doors closing so you can move on to something more appropriate to your level of development, much as the doors of elementary school close to you once you move on to middle school. At that point, you’re ready to move on, and it’s time for change. If you’re a Cancer or have Cancer as your rising sign or midheaven, or if the Moon is prominent in your chart, you may feel lunar eclipse energies more strongly. It’s helpful to clear your schedule around these times so you can process whatever emotions come up for you.

About Solar Eclipses
As for solar eclipses, they tend to bring new beginnings. Think of them as doors opening so you can have new adventures, meet new people, and grow more fully into your potential. If you’re a Leo, or you have Leo as your rising sign, Moon sign, or midheaven, or if the Sun is highlighted in your chart, you may feel solar eclipses strongly, regardless of the sign in which they occur. Slow down and pay attention to what comes up for you around these times and give yourself time to meditate so you can apply whatever you learn to create something new.

Eclipses Will Close Out The Old, Bring In The New
With so many lunar eclipses in 2020, it’s likely we’ll experience events that help us close out the old in our lives. It’s as if we have double the number of chances to get this right by letting go of what has run its course. By allowing ourselves to move on from what we’ve outgrown, or what no longer serves us or creates the highest good for everyone, we can enter new and better territory. The solar eclipses will help us do exactly that, by opening opportunities to embrace the new. Mark your calendar for the December 14 solar eclipse in Sagittarius, a total solar eclipse that’s likely to bring some fireworks – and big opportunities.

This is an excerpt from an article called "Solar Eclipse and its effect on the 12 moon signs".

"The upcoming Solar Eclipse is going to occur on December 26, 2019, with visibility in Asia Pacific regions, including India. Scientifically, during the Solar Eclipse, the Moon is positioned between the Earth and the Sun. Astrologically, Sun and Moon forms a conjunction, at this point of time. From the Vedic astrology point of view, a Solar Eclipse happens because of the two shadow planet Rahu and Ketu which are considered the malefic planets. Hence, this is believed to be an unfavorable episode, with larger effect on materialistic aspects.

However, the same branch of Vedic astrology also believes that there is a less unfavorable side to Solar Eclipse, which pushes us towards the uncharted territory and stimulates our inner potential to find new boundaries. A greater impact of this is seen on our spiritual disposition and experienced by our soul. All this creates some disturbances in our lives, but it does aligns us to the extraordinary, with respect to our personal, spiritual and professional growth.

This Solar Eclipse is going to happen in Sagittarius in the Moola Nakshatra. According to Vedic astrology, Moola nakshatra is ruled by Ketu, and it falls in the Sagittarius zodiac sign. Interestingly, during this year’s last Solar Eclipse, six important planets are going to conjunct in the fiery sign of Sagittarius. As Moon will enter Sagittarius it will make a contact with the following planets:

  • Jupiter, Saturn and Ketu: Saturn and Ketu will already be present in Sagittarius, with its ruling planet Jupiter.
  • Sun: It will be moving to Sagittarius moon sign on the 15th of December.
  • Mercury: It will be entering the Sagittarius sign on 25th

Important timings of the Partial Solar Eclipse falling on 26th December 2019
Eclipse Start Time: 08:17 AM
Maximum Eclipse Time: 09:31 AM
Eclipse End Time: 10:57 AM
Partial Eclipse Duration: 02 Hours 40 Mins 04 Secs
Sutak Begins: 05:31 PM, 25th December
Sutak Ends: 10:57 AM, 26th December
Sutak for Kids, Old and Sick Begins: 03:47 AM, 26th December
Sutak for Kids, Old and Sick Ends: 10:57 AM, 26th December"

If you want to find out how the year 2019’s last Solar Eclipse is going to influence all 12 moon signs, please read the whole article here.

A little old lady answered a knock on the door one day, only to be confronted by a well-dressed young man carrying a vacuum cleaner.
"Good morning," said the young man. "If I could take a couple of minutes of your time, I would like to demonstrate the very latest in high-powered vacuum cleaners."
"Go away!" said the old lady. "I haven't got any money!" and she proceeded to close the door.

Quick as a flash, the young man wedged his foot in the door and pushed it wide open. "Don't be too hasty!" he said. "Not until you have at least seen my demonstration." And with that, he emptied a bucket of horse manure onto her hallway carpet.
"If this vacuum cleaner does not remove all traces of this horse manure from your carpet, Madam, I will personally eat the remainder."

The old lady stepped back and said, "Well I hope you've got a good appetite because they cut off my electricity this morning."
