 I disagree on the "always be in 2nd in command" part because there is Ding in Xu (day branch).

Thanks Vince for your comment and good karma. I stated that based on the blind school teaching and according to a few examples. I think Xu in her chart is a tomb gathering all the fire elements not just Ding fire, hence gathering lots of fiery energy (meaning having authority). However, Xu is kong wang (土空则陷) and so cannot be sustained.

That's just my 2 cents and hope to learn more from you and other masters in this forum.

I agree with you that the combination of the EB in day pillar with other month EB could mean that its hard for her to be the leading person. Duration of long term relationship might also overlapped

This is not a good example as the chart owner can never be a high ranking official anyway so we don’t even need to discuss where Zi seal is located. Here’s why:
Geng Zi is image of yin wearing guan cap and it is combined into Chen day branch so chart intention is to become high ranking official. However, Geng DM clashes Geng guan. This is already going against the chart intention big time. His health or lifespan may also be compromised but that’s another topic altogether.

Weak Jia DM born in spring on top of dragon which is the tomb of water and surrounded by wet yin earth so he fits the 财多身弱 plenty of wealth weak DM structure especially with an inverted wealth triangle. Wood DM like to see fire to warm up the chart and show off its talent plus support from other wood elements to strengthen DM.

Weak DM clash with Geng 7k in year pillar shows he has trouble following authority, zi chen want to combine but separated by mao which punish zi in year pillar (another evidence of authority issue) and harm chen so it's failure to work with colleagues that is more detrimental.

In reality, he might have been very stubborn in thinking and want to be a leader/be acknowledged as correct yet don't have the educational or people skills to control his subordinates or go against his superior in the wrong time. Also, tendency to make wrong choices.

The snake in the hour is the saving grace so he is quick smart and would have been a late bloomer in life. Is he a public figure? What does he do in life?

This person is a government officer. The deputy county magistrate (常务副县长) in China.

I don't know about his character but purely looking at why he is a government officer and always 2nd in command.

Using Mangpai theory, geng zi symbolize authority combine with his day pillar EB chen earth mean power goes to him. The main thing here is to capture zi (authority) in order to gain power. During his LP of wu, he was promoted to deputy head of county and wei LP promoted to Deputy county magistrate. He is always 2nd in command as the middle god is not in his day pillar.

Hi Walter,

In China bureaucracy, he actually has quite a lot of power as he is the main bureaucrat or technical role that implement the policies with his boss, the county magistrate being a political role. So often, the magistrate is the same person holding the role of county party secretary, another political role. If not, then he will be the "third" in power .
