    Singapore July 10, 2020 General Election. Will PAP retain power in Singapore?

    The 2020 Singaporean general election is scheduled for Friday, 10 July 2020.[3] It will elect Members of Parliament to the 14th Parliament of Singapore since Singapore's independence in 1965, using the first-past-the-post electoral system. Voting is mandatory for all Singaporeans aged 21 or above as of 1 March 2020 for the purpose of this election.[4]

    This election will be the 18th general election in Singapore and the 13th since independence.[5] The ruling People's Action Party (PAP) will be attempting to secure their 15th consecutive term in government since 1959.

    Hi All,


    I need your help. Singaporean politics might be easy as blindfold in your backyard, for me it is for the very first time enter this political system.

    Just a flash-back:
    Lee Kuan Yew = 1st Prime Minister of PAP for 31 years
    Goh Chok Tong = 2nd Prime Minister of PAP for 13 years
    Lee Hsien Loong = 3rd Prime Minister of PAP till now.

    Is it correct that PAP is dominating the SG politics till now?
    It looks like One Party system, what is the point for holding an Election or I am wrong?

    Even I don’t understand SG politics yet, I will see how the coins reveal. It is my duty to respond to SG-social network.

    Without a doubt, PAP will win. It's hard for opposition to turn a 55 year ruling incumbent. See neighbouring country for reference  :( :(
