I was the one who wrote the so-called "bad review" at WOFS forum.

First of all, I've to clarify, I did not say this was a bad book. It does has its own merits but its merits are not sufficient to justify the high price of S$80++. Which is 3 to 4 times the price of a Si Hua chinese ZWDS book from Taiwan (around S$20-30+) yet any one of those Chinese ZWDS books has more content and details than the "Practitioners Handbook". I noted that majority of the contents of the "Practitioners Handbook" to be just one-liners.

The contents of a book is limited to how much the author is willing to share. It is also possible for a beginner or fundamental book to be detailed.

With such high retail price of S$80++, naturally I would expect more.

Here is this book's review I wrote at WOFS more than 1 year ago:

Flying Star Zi Wei Dou Shu (Purple Star Astrology): Practitioners Handbook (with Special Preview on Zi Wei Fengshui)

First of all, it makes me feel that this entire book is one big (and expensive) brochure to invite readers to sign up for the author’s ZWDS course, with course details at the end of the book. This is my most expensive ZWDS English book to date and I can buy 4 copies of Empyrean Matrix book with that kind of retail price.

The plus point about this book, it goes to lengths using tables to teach readers to manually plot a chart. It has the usual main stars description and introduces to readers the basic concepts of the flying star Si Hua method while all being very minimal on details (so minimal they’re like brief notes scribbled down during tutorials) because the author wrote if readers are interested to “continue their journey”, they can sign up for their courses. It also has a complimentary CD-rom (trial version only) but the reader has to write in for it.

It also has a preview (really a preview, it’s not even a detailed chapter) on fengshui part of ZWDS, to trigger more interest in readers to sign up for their course, perhaps.

Overall, I would suggest the author to print this book as a very detailed brochure to entice readers to sign up for their course instead of printing this as a book. The “details” of this book is so minimal that they might as well be distributed free. There are many existing ZWDS blogs and websites (mostly Chinese ones) offering free information which is more detailed than this book’s. As a book, this title is clearly not worth the very high retail price.

Does this book offer any additional information or insights on Flying Star ZWDS that were not already presented in the book "The Hidden Laws: Practical Techniques of Flying Star Zi Wei Dou Shu" by Y. M. Lim? I've already got Mr. Lim's book, and just wondered if this book has any new information to learn from.
